Cultural Feast (temporary title)
Last year, the ISU hosted an event to help raise money for the Tsunami victims of
Southeast Asia, that was viewed as a "mini-Potluck". It wouldn't have been possible
without the help of ASU and many others, and they helped to make it a great event.
This event was filled with international food and music, but it was much more than
just a mini-Potluck. Through many generous donations, it helped raised over $1200 for
the Tsunami aid fund, which was the largest amount donated by any school organization.
The other attractions included a fashion show, where it was unanimously decided that
a cute Romanian girl named (?) won an award for the best outfit in the fashion show.
After all of the fun, a slideshow demonstrated the devastating effects of the Tsunami
in places such as Sri Lanka. Even with the serious tone behind the event, everyone
still had a very good time.
It is now planned to make this an annual event every fall to help celebrate our
different cultures and to help bring awareness about the rest of the world.
