NKU currently has approximately 14 students from Japan (Spring 2005).

Located in Eastern Asia, Japan is an island chain situated between the North Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Japan.

International Week at NKU

International Week is designed to celebrate and help students learn more about the numerous different cultures that reside here at Northern Kentucky University. Every year is an unique event, but they are always filled with lots of great cultural events. Students have in the past watched Native American dancing, tried on authentic Kimonos, learned how to do Japanese calligraphy, and tasted snacks from all over the world.

This year, International Week is from September 26-30, 2005. Each day will be filled with several unique events, so please make sure to come everyday you can to see everything!

Festival of Lights

Each year, international students from the University of Cincinnati, Xavier, and NKU, travel together to the Festival of Lights at the Cincinnati Zoo. But beforehand, UC hosts a large dinner for all the students from the different schools. Here are a group of students from each of the schools after an activity to help learn more about each other.
