Bulgarians greatly value education (near 100% literacy rate), the arts and literature and have more than 200 museums in the country.

NKU currently has approximately 6 students from Bulgaria (Spring 2005).

Bulgaria is located in Southeastern Europe, and borders the Black Sea, between Romania and Turkey.

Cultural Awareness Day

Cultural Awareness Day at NKU was designed to promote the diversity here at NKU, and bring cultural awareness to students that pass through the Student Union building. Many different organizations participated, and it hopefully made a good impact on students at NKU.

Purple People Bridge

The Purple People Bridge surprises many who first see it due to its bright purple hue, but it is a connection between Newport on the Levee in Kentucky and Downtown Cincinnati in Ohio. It is a bridge solely for people to walk across, and provides a lovely view of the Ohio river.
